Puppy Raising

We are dedicated to breeding healthy, well-socialized White Swiss Shepherds with exceptional conformation and temperament. That's why all of our puppies are raised using a comprehensive puppy program which includes:

  • Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS)

  • Puppy Culture

  • Puppy Aptitude Test (PAT)

  • PAWS Working Dog Evaluation, for those interested in a working dog

By incorporating these comprehensive programs and evaluations, we ensure that our puppies are well-prepared for their future roles, whether as loving family companions, conformation & performance dogs, or dedicated working dogs.

Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS)

We incorporate ENS exercises during the critical early weeks of a puppy’s life. These exercises involve gentle handling techniques that stimulate the neurological system, including tactile stimulation, head held erect, head pointed down, supine position, and thermal stimulation. The benefits of ENS include improved cardiovascular performance, stronger heartbeats, stronger adrenal glands, increased stress tolerance, and greater resistance to disease.

Puppy Culture

Our puppies are raised following the Puppy Culture program, which is a comprehensive, organized approach to early socialization and training. This program includes a series of exercises and experiences designed to develop a puppy’s social skills, problem-solving abilities, and resilience. Key components of Puppy Culture include:

  • Early Socialization: Introducing puppies to a variety of people, animals, sounds, and environments to build confidence and adaptability.

  • Enrichment Activities: Providing stimulating toys and activities to encourage mental and physical development.

  • Problem-Solving Exercises: Engaging puppies in tasks that challenge their minds and build their problem-solving skills.

  • Positive Reinforcement Training: Using reward-based training methods to teach basic commands and good manners.

Puppy Aptitude Test (PAT)

performed by an outside temperament evaluator

We use the Puppy Aptitude Test to assess each puppy’s temperament and personality at around 7 weeks of age. The PAT includes a series of tests that evaluate a puppy’s social attraction, following, restraint, social dominance, elevation dominance, retrieving, touch sensitivity, sound sensitivity, sight sensitivity, and stability. This assessment helps us understand each puppy’s individual characteristics and match them with the right families based on their lifestyle and needs.

PAWS Working Dog Evaluation

performed by an outside temperament evaluator

For those interested in working dogs, we will conduct the PAWS Working Dog Evaluation. This evaluation is designed to assess a puppy’s potential for various working roles, such as therapy, service, or protection work. The evaluation includes tests for:

  • Drive: Assessing the puppy’s motivation and enthusiasm for work.

  • Nerve Strength: Evaluating the puppy’s ability to handle stress and recover quickly.

  • Trainability: Measuring the puppy’s willingness to learn and follow commands.

  • Sociability: Observing the puppy’s interactions with people and other animals.

  • Environmental Stability: Testing the puppy’s confidence in different environments and situations.
